Kanazawa, a Town of Architecture
The Kanazawa Municipal Tamagawa Library was created through the combined efforts of Yoshiro Taniguchi, who designed the "Togu Palace" and the "State Guest House Japanese Style Annex," and his son Yoshio Taniguchi, who designed the "New York Museum of Modern Art" and the "D.T. Suzuki Museum". It is their only parent-child joint work.
Kanazawa City has many contemporary buildings that have received acclaim from both within Japan as well as from overseas. It also boasts many historical cityscapes and buildings in the central urban area that developed as a castle town.
