5Tamagawa Library

The Tamagawa Library Main Building is composed of the open access section and the courtyard on the east side, as well as the study and administration sections on the west side (consisting of the reference materials room, the learning room, and offices, among others). The open access section is designed to be a familiar place that’s easy to use daily thanks to this separation of buildings. There is also a strong emphasis on the connection to the adjacent park. By allowing the people who are walking in the park to pass through, the connection between the library and the city is deepened and the public nature of the building is enhanced.
