04Dot-pattern on Outer Wall

The dot-pattern on the outer wall of the library is the first thing you notice when you visit us. Each dot is a round window on the wall and there are approx. 6000 round windows. We experimented in various ways to optimize the lighting for reading inside the library. We considered the shape, the size, the location, the way the light comes in, etc. We finally came to the conclusion that it would be best to have round windows in three sizes evenly placed on each side of the building. An impressive outlook of the library was created through much trial and error. The windows on outer wall look like bubbles floating on the sea.
